Department of State Overview
The primary responsibility of the U.S. Department of State and its employees is to implement foreign policy initiatives, protect U.S. interests abroad, and fight terrorism while building a freer, prosperous and secure world. The State Department stewards the National Strategy for Information Sharing and Safeguarding Priority Objective number 7 -- Update to the Information Sharing Environment (ISE) Core Awareness Training (CAT).
Topic areas of the ISE CAT include the evolution of its legal framework, its communities, organizations, and oversight, and privacy and civil liberties protections. The revised CAT is scheduled for release in January of 2015.
